Ewhurst Stone Re-Pointing

Initially we were called upon to investigate damp in the outside kitchen wall, of our clients period property. We found that the stone had been variously, re-pointed in cementitious mortar which was trapping moisture and resulting in spalling of the historic stone fabric.

We removed the cementitious mortar and re-pointed in a visually matched non hydraulic lime. Taking care to reinstate a small area of decorative, ironstone galettes.
