As part of a large programme of restoration we laid a new solid oak floor, which replaced an earlier ‘hatch-potch’ of softwood boards from the last 40 -50 years which had been badly cut about by other tradesmen and were in places dangerous. The new 22mm dry oak boards were fixed with hand made rose head nails and the floor then oiled with danish oil.
