Droxford structural timber repairs
We were called to investigate deformation of the structural frame around a window in the front elevation. The home owner had a number of local builders take a look who gave differing advice. With years of experience in dealing with historic timber framed buildings we were able to immediately identify the problem. which was a lack of connected vertical timbers and decay and rolling over of the sole plate.
We supported the timber frame with ‘pins’ and pit props, recorded and removed the brick panel infill, replaced the sole plate with new green Oak and repaired the studs and posts sitting upon it.
We then put back the brick panel infill and lime plastered the inside.
